President Prabowo Subianto held a plenary session with all members of the National Energy Council (DEN) at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday (17/09/2026). Several ministers were also summoned to the meeting, including the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, the Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara, the Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhy, and the Minister of Environment Jumhur Hidayat.

Also in attendance were the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency Rachmat Pambudi, the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwan Kartasasmita, and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.

Members of the DEN arrived at the palace area at approximately 15:28 WIB via minibus.

“Today, we are conducting a plenary session with all members of the National Energy Council. The Chairman of the National Energy Council is President Prabowo, and I serve as the Daily Chairman. There are also other DEN members from various stakeholders, including community representatives, academics, and several ministers acting as members of the DEN,” Bahlith told reporters.

Bahlil stated that this is a routine DEN agenda, which typically involves two plenary sessions held with the President. During the session, Bahlil also confirmed that one of the items on the agenda was the implementation of E20 biofuel.

“As part of that, whenever we discuss the DEN, all aspects concerning energy will be part of the discussion,” he said.

On this occasion, Bahlil also addressed the fuel shortage in Makassar. He noted that the current national stock has reached a safe capacity for the next 18 to 20 days.

“The national stock, based on our minimum national requirement standards, is at 18 to 20 days,” he said.

Regarding the shortage occurring in Makassar, he noted that the situation is beginning to ease. This is attributed to a shift in fuel usage, where consumers are moving from RON 92 and 95 to non-subsidised fuels.

“It has been resolved, and I have reported this to the President,” Bahlil concluded.
