Prabowo Holds Meeting with TNI Commander, Discusses Progress on Bridges and Rural Electrification
President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and his staff. Prabowo discussed a number of strategic programmes whose implementation is assisted by the TNI.
The meeting was held at the Palace in Jakarta on Thursday (6/8/2026). Prabowo was accompanied by State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defence Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Agus was accompanied by Deputy TNI Commander Lieutenant General Tandyo Budi Revita, Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali, and Air Force Chief of Staff Air Marshal Mohamad Tonny Harjono.
“Progress on the construction of 2,500 village bridges targeted for completion in August 2026. Construction of nearly 3,000 clean water points in various regions of Indonesia. The village electrification programme, particularly in the outermost regions, which continues throughout this year,” said Teddy.
In addition, the TNI also reported on the implementation of simultaneous social service activities across Indonesia ahead of the 81st anniversary of Indonesian independence. Prabowo also gave directives to the TNI ahead of the independence anniversary commemoration.
“Through these various programmes, the TNI continues to strengthen its role, not only as the front line in safeguarding state sovereignty, but also as a strategic partner of the government in accelerating equitable development, expanding public access to basic needs, and strengthening the unity between the TNI and the people,” said Teddy.
