Prabowo Holds Meeting with Sjafrie and National Police Chief in Hambalang: What Was Discussed?

President Prabowo Subianto led a limited meeting regarding the development of the national situation and the handling of forest and land fires (karhutla) in several regions of Sumatra and Kalimantan, at his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java province, on Tuesday (1/9/202<0xC2>6).

The meeting was attended by the Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, General Agus Subiyanto, and the Chief of the Indonesian National Police, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Also in attendance were Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

“The meeting discussed the development of the national situation as well as the handling of forest and land fires in several regions of Sumatra and Kalimantan,” said Teddy, as quoted from an official statement on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

Teddy stated that the government continues to strengthen cross-element coordination to ensure that the handling of forest fires can proceed rapidly and in an integrated manner. This step is also directed towards anticipating the expansion of fire hotspots in the affected areas.
