President Prabowo Subianto has commended the members of the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) for persevering in their duties despite facing threats and intimidation. According to Prabowo, this pressure is not only directed at the officers but also targets their families.

These remarks were made by Prabowo while attending the Handover of Administrative Fines and Forest Area Land Phase 8 at the Attorney General’s Office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

On this occasion, Prabowo stated that he is aware of several parties receiving threats while performing their duties. He also noted that the families of those involved in the task force have become targets of this pressure.

Prabowo revealed that the threats received by government officials in carrying out forest area enforcement do not only target the individuals directly involved. According to him, their families are also being threatened.

“I know that there are brothers and sisters who are threatened, who are intimidated; not just our colleagues, but their families are also threatened,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo made these statements in front of the personnel involved in the execution of the Satgas PKH duties.

Despite being aware of these threats and pressures, Prabowo expressed his appreciation to the personnel who have remained steadfast in their duties. He noted that they have not backed down despite facing difficult situations.

“I understand and I appreciate that you all have not retreated, have not been cowed, and have not given up,” he asserted.

Prabowo subsequently linked the duties performed by these government officials to the effort of defending the interests of the people. He stated that this struggle is primarily aimed at communities living in difficult conditions and those who lack the ability to fight for their own interests.

“I thank those who are still willing to fight alongside me. To fight for our people. To fight for those who cannot speak for themselves,” said Prabowo.

He mentioned that the groups of people at the heart of this struggle include those without homes and those experiencing difficulty in meeting their daily nutritional needs. Prabowo emphasised that those who choose to continue their duties under such conditions should not hesitate, and he urged them to remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
