Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has once again highlighted the increase in profits for several State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) during the first half of 2026, as a result of improvements in the management of state companies.

During his speech at the 28th anniversary commemoration of the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Jakarta on Friday night, Prabowo cited PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero) as one of the SOEs that recorded a profit increase.

“PT Pupuk, which had been experiencing losses for a long time, has now seen its profits rise by 252 per cent. PT Pupuk Indonesia is up. SOEs that were previously loss-making are now profitable,” said Prabowo, as monitored online.

According to Prabowo, the performance improvement of Pupuk Indonesia occurred alongside the government’s steps to reduce fertiliser prices.

Based on company data, Pupuk Indonesia booked a net profit of Rp8.51 trillion in the first half of 2026, an increase of 252.8 per cent compared to Rp2.41 trillion during the same period the previous year.

In addition to Pupuk Indonesia, Prabowo mentioned that the net profit of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk increased by approximately 400 per cent in the first half of 2026.

He also noted profit increases in several other SOEs, including PT Pertamina (Persero) by 86 per cent, PT Pegadaian by 84 per cent, and PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) by 54 per cent.

Prabowo stated that this performance improvement is part of the government’s efforts to carry out consolidation and improve the management of state wealth.

According to him, the restructuring of SOEs is necessary so that state wealth can be managed efficiently and provide greater benefits to the public.

These profit growth figures for several SOEs were previously presented by Prabowo during the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI in Jakarta on 14 August 2026.

At that time, Prabowo stated that the net profit of Semen Indonesia increased by 408.9 per cent in the first half of 2026, Pupuk Indonesia by 252.8 per cent, Pertamina by 86 per cent, Pegadaian by 84.4 per cent, and PTPN by 54.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, based on the financial reports for the first half of 2026 published after the speech, Semen Indonesia booked a profit attributable to the owners of the parent entity of approximately Rp207 billion, an increase of about 446 per cent compared to the same period the previous year.
