Prabowo Highlights Numerous Global Conflicts: All Impact Indonesia

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto commented on the current global situation and how it impacts Indonesia. He made these remarks in his opening speech at the groundbreaking of 13 National Downstreaming Projects Phase II, in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026). “Brothers and sisters, in our world this 21st century, the earth has become smaller due to technology. What happens in distant parts of our planet affects us,” he stated. “We are not involved. (But) what happens in Ukraine affects us. The war in Ukraine impacts the prices of corn, wheat, oil. Especially the war in Gaza, especially the war in the Persian Gulf. Iran versus the US-Israel,” he explained. Therefore, he reminded that the revival of a nation requires continuous hard work. Attitudes such as nationalism, love for the homeland, and national unity are also necessary for a nation to succeed. “And today, this is understood… comprehended by major countries, by countries that want to become hegemonic.. Because this is human nature. The bigger, the stronger, the more they want domination,” Prabowo added. “The more they want to control, and what they want to control are the wealth of resources,” he clarified.
