Prabowo: Hey Smart People, We Are the Safest Country in the World
President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto sharply rebuked those he considers unpatriotic and lacking love for the homeland.
In his speech at the Groundbreaking of 13 National Downstreaming Projects Phase II in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4), he once again touched on the ‘Dark Indonesia’ narrative and the ‘just flee for now’ suggestion that had been circulating recently.
“Some want to flee. If you want to flee, go ahead, flee to there. Perhaps some want to flee to Yemen, be my guest,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo believes such people are not objective in viewing reality.
He assesses that they have sidelined facts about Indonesia’s bright future ahead.
“Where do you want to flee to? Hey smart people, open your eyes, read the news, look. We are placed as the safest country in the world now, so just flee, yeah, just flee so we don’t have any fuss,” he stated.
Prabowo promised that he and his team will work fully for the interests of all Indonesian people.
He said he will continue to strive so that no more Indonesian wealth leaks out and is only enjoyed by a handful of people.
He wants Indonesia’s abundant natural resources to be enjoyed by all Indonesian people.
“It has been too long that our natural resources have been controlled by traders whose nationalism I question. We give mining concessions, we give plantation concessions, we give credit from people’s banks, but when they succeed, the results of their efforts are not placed in Indonesia,” he said.
At the beginning of April, Prabowo also touched on ‘Dark Indonesia’ in his speech. He said people who call it that are not objective in their views.
Prabowo holds the opposite view. He calls Indonesia’s future bright. According to him, Indonesia will emerge as a strong country capable of standing on its own feet.
He stated that in the future, Indonesia will become increasingly strong and capable.
“Our growth is good, next year we will create a surprise for the whole world, Indonesia is rising, this giant is waking up, we will no longer be the sleeping giant. We are rising,” said Prabowo at the inauguration of the electric commercial vehicle assembly plant of PT VKTR Sakti Industries in Magelang, Central Java, on Thursday (9/4).
