Prabowo: Happy 80th Bhayangkara Day, Police Must Protect the People
President Prabowo Subianto attended the peak event of the 80th Bhayangkara Day. Prabowo stated that the Indonesian National Police (Polri) must become the moral compass for every Bhayangkara officer. “On behalf of the government of the Republic of Indonesia and all Indonesian people, I wish a happy 80th Bhayangkara Day to the entire extended family of the Indonesian National Police, wherever you are serving,” Prabowo said in his address at the Brimob Training Centre in Cikeas, Bogor, on Wednesday (1/7/2026). Prabowo said this year’s Bhayangkara Day theme is very appropriate. He assessed that the theme ‘Police for the Community’ represents the force’s identity and dedication. “This year’s commemoration theme, Police for the Community, is very appropriate. This is our identity. This is the direction of our service. This is and must continue to be the moral compass for every Bhayangkara officer,” he said. Prabowo conveyed that the police are present for the people. He added that the police must also protect the people. “The police are present for the people, the police work for the people, the police must protect the people, the police serve the nation and the state,” he stated.
