Prabowo Grows More Confident Ahead of Second Year in Office
President Prabowo Subianto has admitted to feeling increasingly confident as he approaches the second year of his administration. He stated that the government has achieved a number of significant successes.
Prabowo made these remarks while attending the 100th anniversary of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java, on Saturday (19/09/2026). Prabowo noted that his administration, alongside his supporting coalition, will complete two years in office in less than a month.
“I now stand before the people of Indonesia, and I am more confident now,” said Prabowo.
“Why am I confident? Because I have not yet completed two years of carrying out the mandate from the people. It has not been two years; there are only a few weeks left. I believe it is less than a month until exactly two years,” he added.
Prabeway also expressed his gratitude for the support of his coalition, noting that many alumni of Gontor are part of the government coalition.
“Thank you for the support. I know Gontor must not engage in politics. It is true that Gontor should not participate in practical politics, but it must understand politics,” he said.
According to him, the government has demonstrated several successes that benefit the nation and the Indonesian people. Therefore, Prabowo claimed to feel confident heading into his second year of governance.
“I say, I feel confident now because these two years, the government I lead is assisted by great people—great ministers, great generals, and great governors,” he stated.
“We have proven to the Indonesian nation that we have achieved real successes that are fortunate and beneficial for the nation and the Indonesian people,” he continued.
Prabowo emphasised his desire to prove that the government does not merely deliver promises. He stated that his administration is not merely about empty talk.
“I am confident because we are now proving that we are not leaders who only engage in ‘omon-omon’ (empty talk),” he concluded.
