Prabowo greets public after watching independence carnival at Monas
President Prabowo Subianto greeted tens of thousands of people who packed the National Monument (Monas) area in Central Jakarta on Monday evening after watching the ‘Karnaval Bersatu Harmoni Nusantara’ as part of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.
Initially, Prabowo watched the independence carnival parade from the VIP stand. After the dozens of decorated vehicles left the south side of Monas, the crowd that had packed the area immediately rushed towards the main stage area to enjoy the entertainment.
Prabowo then took the time to watch singer Wika Salim perform from the VIP stand. The main stage was located opposite the President.
For about 15 minutes, the Head of State appeared to enjoy the atmosphere while watching tens of thousands of citizens enjoying the independence night entertainment.
After that, Prabowo descended from the stage and walked towards the Maung Limousine that was waiting below the stand.
However, before leaving the location, Prabowo once again greeted the people who were below the stage. After greeting the crowd, Prabowo then got into the Maung Limousine and stood through the vehicle’s sunroof.
From atop the car, Prabowo waved to the people who packed the Monas area. The President raised his hand several times and waved towards the crowd who were seeing him off.
The crowd’s cheers continued to be heard as the car carrying Prabowo moved away from the stage area. Prabowo remained standing through the sunroof while waving until the vehicle left the event area.
President Prabowo was accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in watching the ‘Karnaval Bersatu Harmoni Nusantara’, which was part of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations.
The carnival featured dozens of decorated vehicles from various ministries and institutions showcasing a number of national priority programmes, including food and energy self-sufficiency, Free Nutritious Meals, Sekolah Rakyat, Free Health Checks, Koperasi Merah Putih, and the 3 Million Subsidised Houses Programme.
The parade started from the Monas area and passed through several points in Jakarta, including Patung Kuda, Sarinah, and the HI Roundabout. In addition to the decorated vehicle parade, the event was also enlivened by music performances, an MSME culinary area, fireworks, and a drone show.
Besides President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran, also present were Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
