Prabowo Greets 8 Special Guests at the 2026 Annual and Joint Session
The 2026 Annual and Joint Session differed from previous years with the presence of eight special guests. One by one, they were personally greeted by President Prabowo Subianto during his state address. The Annual and Joint Session was held at the Nusantara Building in the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026). These eight special guests are citizens who have directly experienced the flagship programmes of President Prabowo’s era, ranging from Sekolah Rakyat (People’s Schools) students to beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme and ATENSI social assistance.
- Joko Purnomo
Prabowo greeted a farmer from Ngawi named Joko Purnomo. Joko has benefited from the reduction in fertiliser prices. “Present among us today, we have invited Mr Joko Purnomo, the head of a farmers’ group from Purwasari Village, Ngawi Regency, East Java,” said Prabowo on Friday (14/8/2026). “Mr Joko has been farming for 20 years using technology and fertiliser provided by the government. He can now harvest three times a year, with a productivity of 9 tonnes of rice per hectare,” he continued.
- Kristina Beno
Prabowo then greeted Kristina Beno. This student has benefited from the MBG programme. “Present with us today is Kristina Beno, a sixth-grade primary school student from Merauke, South Papua. Kristina, thank you. Is this your first time at the MPR? Someday, you might sit up here,” he said. Kristina has benefited from MBG, and she now attends school more diligently. “MBG has helped Kristina become fitter, more focused, and more diligent in attending school,” he said.
- Muhammad Risky Pratama
Prabowo also greeted Muhammad Risky Pratama. Risky has benefited from Sekolah Rakyat. “One of its students is Muhammad Risky Pratama, aged 12, a student at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama 2 Medan. Risky once cycled tens of kilometres while carrying around 30 kilograms of fish to sell. He had dropped out of school and was not yet fluent in reading and arithmetic,” he revealed.
- Citra Nur Ramadhani
Also present was Citra Nur Ramadhani from Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency in South Sulawesi Province. Prabowo mentioned that Citra almost dropped out of school when she was in fourth grade. Citra has now returned to school and recently won a regency-level karate championship. “Also present is Citra Nur Ramadhani from Pangkajene and Kepulauan Regency in South Sulawesi Province. When she was in fourth grade, Citra almost dropped out because she had to help her mother sell peanuts. Sekolah Rakyat gave Citra the opportunity to learn without leaving her family to face the struggle alone. Citra also recently won a regency-level karate championship,” said Prabowo. Prabowo briefly asked Citra her age and reminded her not to date because she is still 10 years old. “Citra, how old are you? 10 years old? Well, in 10 years you can date,” he said.
- Susanah
Prabowo then greeted a resident of Bogor Regency, Susanah. Susanah is a beneficiary of the Family Hope Programme (PKH) and the Sembako Programme, which have now helped her economy. “Present with us is Mrs Susanah from Bogor Regency. She works as a daily labourer peeling shallots for a wage of around 700 Rupiah per kilogram. The Family Hope Programme and the Sembako Programme have helped maintain her children’s education,” he said.
- Margarelitha Rohi
Another citizen presented at the MPR Annual Session and the DPR-DPD Joint Session was Margarelitha Rohi from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Margarelitha was also greeted by Prabowo as a beneficiary of ATENSI social assistance. “Also present is Mrs Margarelitha Rohi from Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Since childhood, she has lived in hardship and never received an education. At the age of 38, she still trades and cares for her 80-year-old aunt. ATENSI Social Assistance in the form of rice and oil has become a support for her family,” he said.
- Thelma Humena
Next was Thelma from Manado. Thanks to the BSPS programme, Thelma’s house was repaired. “Present with us today is Mrs Thelma Humena from Manado City. Her house previously had fragile foundations, and damaged walls, floors, and roof. Through BSPS, her family was able to repair the house,” he continued.
- Andre Kawaru
Finally, Andre Kawaru, a resident of Samarinda and a recipient of the FLPP Subsidised Mortgage, was also greeted by Prabowo. Andre, a rabbit trader who moved from market to market, can now own his own home because of the programme. “Also present is Mr Andre Kawaru from Samarinda. He trades rabbits from one night market to another and lived in a rented house for years. Through the FLPP Subsidised Mortgage, Mr Andre now has his own home,” said Prabowo. “For Mr Andre’s family and millions of Indonesians, a house is not just an asset. A house is peace, dignity, and the future,” he concluded.
