Prabowo: Global Crises Everywhere, the Strong Will Survive, the Weak Will Suffer

President of the Republic Prabowo Subianto has assessed that global crises are occurring everywhere in the world. However, according to him, this situation could become an opportunity for Indonesia to emerge stronger.

He even referred to the crisis as a “blessing in disguise.”

This was conveyed by Prabowo whilst delivering remarks at the first-year thanksgiving celebration (Tasyakuran) for Danantara, held at Wisma Danantara in South Jakarta on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

Prabowo stated that the various crises occurring globally at present represent both a test and a momentum for every nation to strengthen itself. According to him, crises often generate new opportunities for those capable of enduring them.

“My friends, this is becoming increasingly pressing because we see the world now filled with uncertainty. Crises are occurring everywhere. But my friends, crises always produce opportunities. A crisis is a test. A crisis is a stepping stone,” said Prabowo.

He added that only strong nations are capable of navigating through such difficult periods, whilst those unprepared will continue to face hardship. Prabowo is confident that Indonesia is strong because it possesses significant assets.

“The strong will survive, the weak will continue to suffer. This is a lesson from history. I am confident and believe that the Indonesian nation has been blessed with extraordinary natural wealth and we are capable of emerging from this crisis,” said Prabowo.

“We will emerge from this crisis even stronger. This crisis, in my view, is a blessing in disguise,” he added.

On the other hand, the Head of State acknowledged that the crisis situation is indeed filled with challenges and difficulties. However, according to him, these conditions actually compel the government to accelerate various strategic agendas that have been planned.

“It is indeed filled with difficulties, indeed filled with challenges. But it compels us to accelerate our good intentions,” he said.

One of the matters highlighted is the effort to achieve food self-sufficiency. Prabowo is targeting energy self-sufficiency to be achieved within the next four years.

“We already have a plan for food self-sufficiency, and alhamdulillah, it has been partially achieved. We already have the intention for energy self-sufficiency, and according to our plan, we are confident we will achieve this within the next four years,” he said.
