Prabowo-Gibran Receive Firm Support from PSI: Until the End

The Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) has affirmed its position to remain within the government coalition of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

PSI stated that it will oversee the running of the government until the end of its term. Deputy Chairman of the PSI Central Executive Board, Andy Budiman, said that this support constitutes the party’s official stance.

PSI also stressed that it will not remain silent if attempts emerge to bring down a legitimate government mid-term.

“PSI will fight against any attempt to topple the government mid-term. We support the Prabowo-Gibran administration until the end, and all cadres are united in ensuring its success. PSI believes that differences of opinion or criticism of the government should be conveyed through available mechanisms, not by building movements to bring down a legitimate government,” he said on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.

Andy assessed that criticism and differences of opinion towards the government are matters that can be conveyed through available mechanisms. However, in his view, these should not be directed towards becoming a movement to overthrow the government.

The statement was issued by PSI in response to remarks by Projo Chairman Budi Arie Setiadi, who raised the possibility of impeaching President Prabowo.

PSI considers Budi Arie’s statement to have the potential to create divisions within the government and society.

“What Budi Arie has done is a malicious attempt to sow discord. Efforts to bring down a legitimate government will only make the people victims of the ambitions of a handful of shameless elites,” said Andy.

Andy stressed that PSI views the Prabowo-Gibran administration as having a legitimate mandate because it was born through a constitutional process.

For this reason, PSI has chosen to oversee the government while ensuring that government programmes can run until the end of its term.

“Once again, PSI remains consistent within the coalition ranks to help, safeguard, and ensure that the government runs until the end. If there are parties who wish to bring down the government mid-term, we will block and fight them. This is for the sake of the nation and the state,” said Andy.
