Prabowo Gathers Ministers at the Weekend to Discuss Energy Policy

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto held a limited meeting (ratas) virtually with several ministers from the Merah Putih Cabinet at the weekend, on Saturday (28/3/2026). The meeting discussed the direction and adjustments to the government’s strategic policies moving forward, particularly in the economic and energy sectors.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of State Secretariat, the ratas was held to respond to the ongoing situation and developing global dynamics. The government utilised the ratas as a forum for cross-ministerial coordination so that every policy taken remains aligned, directed, and responsive.

“The government continues to strengthen policy coordination to maintain national economic stability and certainty amid global dynamics,” reads the official statement from the Ministry of State Secretariat on its official Instagram account @kemensetneg.ri, on Sunday (29/3/2026).

The ratas also demonstrated the government’s urgency in maintaining stability in vital sectors. Adjustments to policies in the economic and energy sectors are deemed crucial to protect national interests from the impacts of current global uncertainties.

The virtual coordination meeting was attended by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa.

In addition, it was attended by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani, Minister of PAN RB Rini Widiyanti, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
