President Prabowo Subianto gathered a number of ministers from the Red and White Cabinet on Sunday, 14 June 2026. The officials met with Prabowo at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

The cabinet members present included Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who also serves as Head of BPI Danantara, Rosan Roeslani; Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia; and Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. Also in attendance were Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto; Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Body Dony Oskaria; Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi; and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Teddy stated that during the meeting, President Prabowo received a report from Rosan regarding the results of his working visits to the United States and several countries in Europe and Asia. “The report shows valid facts and data indicating increasing international confidence in Indonesia, which is reflected in the high level of interest and incoming investment into various national strategic sectors,” Teddy said in a written statement.

Following up on the report, Teddy said President Prabowo stressed the importance of conveying transparent information to the public. The Head of State believes the public needs to obtain a complete and fact-based picture of the national investment climate and Indonesia’s future economic prospects.

The meeting was held amid rising domestic political temperatures. On the preceding Friday, over a thousand students staged a protest titled ‘Towards a Bankrupt Indonesia’ in the MH Thamrin area of Jakarta. The protest, which involved an alliance of students from the University of Indonesia Student Executive Board (BEM UI) and several other campuses, carried demands ranging from the cessation of the free nutritious meal programme to a reduction in fuel prices.

Demonstrations also took place in Solo and Semarang. In Yogyakarta, a coalition of students, academics, lecturers, and online motorcycle taxi drivers rallied in the Gejayan area. The ‘People’s Call Alliance’ action put forward ten demands related to economic policy, law, and public welfare under the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Key issues highlighted included the controversy over the free nutritious meal programme (MBG), the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate, rising fuel prices, and tax burdens affecting micro, small, and medium enterprises.
