Prabowo gathers Himbara leaders to discuss Indonesia's economic direction

President Prabowo Subianto gathered the directors and commissioners of banks within the Association of State-Owned Banks (Himbara) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday to discuss views and directives regarding Indonesia’s future economic direction.

“Today, together with management and commissioners from Himbara, we met with the President to gain insights, direction, and share views on the future of Indonesia’s economy,” said Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who is also CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Rosan, the meeting was expected to be a productive session to strengthen Himbara’s role as one of the drivers of the national economy. “This will be a productive session to receive input so that Himbara, as one of the future drivers of the economy, becomes better, more prudent, and also delivers a positive impact on the Indonesian economy,” Rosan stated.

President Prabowo Subianto summoned the directors and commissioners of Himbara banks along with Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto to the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday afternoon. Airlangga confirmed he was called by the President together with the Himbara bank directors. “Yes, with Himbara,” Airlangga said shortly after arriving at the Palace. However, Airlangga declined to disclose the agenda of the meeting with President Prabowo, including any potential new assignments for the Himbara banks. “About banking,” he said briefly.

Other Himbara leaders seen attending included BRI Micro Director Akhmad Purwakajaya, BNI Risk Management Director David Pirzada, BNI Deputy CEO Alexandra Askandar, BNI CEO Putrama Wahju Setyawan, BRI CEO Hery Gunardi, BTN CEO Nixon L.P. Napitupulu, and BSI Chief Commissioner Muhadjir Effendy. Also present were Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara, Danantara Indonesia Chief Investment Officer Pandu Sjahrir, Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman, and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming who is also Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani. The Himbara bank leaders began arriving at 14.00 WIB and were seen uniformly dressed in white shirts and light blue ties. They arrived individually using private vehicles or in groups using minivans.
