Prabowo: Free Palestine! Free Palestine! Free Palestine!

President Prabowo Subianto attended the centenary celebration of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java, on Saturday (19/09/2026).

During his speech, he chanted “Free Palestine” three times. This occurred while Prabowo was addressing the invited guests and reached the point of mentioning the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattari, which was met with cheers and applause from the entire room.

The Palestinian Ambassador stood up and waved, then approached Prabowo on the stage to place a keffiyeh around his neck.

In his speech, Prabowo stated that he remains mindful of his brothers and sisters in Palestine. “I remember our brothers in Palestine. They are being massacred, bombed, and continuously attacked, yet we seem powerless to help them,” Prabowo said during his address.

He noted that this situation should serve as an inspiration for scholars and educators in institutions such as Gontor to study diligently and build a strong Indonesian nation. He argued that if a nation is not strong, it will be trampled upon by other nations.

“This is what should drive us all, especially our brothers, the kiai, the scholars, and the educators in institutions like Gontor,” he said.

“I believe this must encourage and trigger a will—a will to study seriously, a will to build a strong Indonesian nation. Because a nation that is not strong will be trampled by other nations. We must learn from history,” he added.
