Prabowo Forms Special Export-Focused State-Owned Enterprise, Named PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia
Jakarta, Kompas.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has established a state-owned enterprise (BUMN) dedicated to exports. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the enterprise is named PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. ‘The Minister of Investment/Head of BKPM has formed PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. Further details will follow,’ Airlangga said at a press conference at the DPR building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
In the same event, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani said the formation of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia is an effort to ensure transparency in transactions.
Earlier, President Prabowo Subianto announced that the government had issued a Government Regulation (PP) on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource Commodities. Henceforth, exports of palm oil to coal must go through the state-owned company as the sole exporter.
‘Today, the Government of the Republic of Indonesia that I lead has issued a Government Regulation on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource Commodities,’ Prabowo said at the DPR Building, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.
Prabowo said this PP aims to strengthen oversight and monitoring of export activities in Indonesia. ‘In essence, the proceeds from every export sale will be passed on by the government-appointed state-owned company to the business actors managing those activities. This can be described as a marketing facility,’ he added.
