Prabowo Feels Honoured by PKB's 'Prabowonomics' T-Shirts, Jokingly Tells Gerindra Off

President Prabowo Subianto has said he felt honoured that cadres of the National Awakening Party (PKB) wore t-shirts emblazoned with ‘Prabowonomics’ during their event. He then jokingly chided his own political party, Gerindra, for not doing the same. Prabowo made the remarks during his speech at the PKB’s 28th anniversary celebration (Harlah) at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. He began by thanking the party for the results of their religious scholars’ meeting (ijtima ulama) and committed to implementing their recommendations, noting that they were already part of his policy direction. “You have given me a gift, you have given me an order, and I am ready to carry it out,” Prabowo said. He then drew attention to the ‘Prabowonomics’ t-shirts worn by PKB cadres at the event, quipping that Gerindra had never worn similar attire. “You have given me an extraordinary honour, even Gerindra doesn’t wear t-shirts like you do,” he stated. Prabowo jokingly called out the name of Gerindra’s Daily Chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Despite the warm banter, Prabowo firmly stated he would never allow Gerindra to wear such t-shirts. “How about that, Dasco? Even Gerindra doesn’t wear them, because they know I wouldn’t allow it,” he said with a laugh. Prabowo explained that had PKB asked for permission first, he would not have granted it, as ‘Prabowonomics’ is essentially Pancasila Economics. “If you had asked for permission, I definitely wouldn’t have allowed it. Truly, I am not being falsely modest, but I am simply not worthy… this is Pancasila Economics, this is Constitutional Economics, this is the People’s Economy,” he said. Nonetheless, Prabowo reiterated his thanks to PKB, stating he felt deeply respected. “But I feel very honoured, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he concluded.
