Prabowo Feels Honoured by PKB's 'Prabowonomics' T-Shirts, Jokingly Tells Gerindra Off

President Prabowo Subianto said he felt honoured after PKB cadres wore shirts bearing the words ‘Prabowonomics’. He then made a joking remark about Gerindra, the party he leads.

He made the remarks during his address at PKB’s 28th anniversary celebration at JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday (23/7/2026). He began by expressing thanks for the outcome of PKB’s ulama gathering, which had been presented to him. He committed to carrying out what PKB had recommended, noting that it was already part of his policy agenda.

“You have given me a gift, you have given me a directive, and I am ready to carry it out,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo then brought up the ‘Prabowonomics’ shirts worn by PKB cadres at the event. He quipped that Gerindra had never worn anything similar.

“You have given me such an extraordinary tribute, that even Gerindra doesn’t wear shirts like yours,” he said.

Prabowo joked by mentioning the name of Gerindra’s Daily Chairman, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad. Beyond the warm banter, Prabowo stressed that he would never allow Gerindra to wear shirts like those worn by PKB at this event.

“How about that, Dasco? Even Gerindra doesn’t wear them, because they know I wouldn’t allow it,” he said, laughing.

Prabowo said that if PKB had asked permission beforehand to wear the shirts, he would not have granted it, because Prabowonomics is Pancasila economics.

“If you had asked for permission, there’s no way I would have allowed it. Truly, I’m not being falsely modest, but I really am not worthy… this is Pancasila economics, this is constitutional economics, this is the people’s economics,” he said.

Nevertheless, Prabowo remained grateful to PKB. He said he felt honoured by the party.

“But I feel deeply respected, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he said.
