Prabowo Fails to Disguise Himself During Surprise Visit to Senen

President Prabowo Subianto failed to “disguise” himself during a sudden inspection visit to a residential area along the railway tracks in the Senen district, Central Jakarta. Although he arrived in an ordinary car with limited security, his presence was quickly recognised by residents who greeted him enthusiastically.

“It was impromptu and he planned to disguise himself, using an ordinary car and very few Paspampres, but the residents were surprised and enthusiastically welcomed him,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya when contacted on Thursday (26/3/2026), as reported by detikNews.

Teddy explained that Prabowo deliberately did not use the usual Maung Garuda vehicle for site inspections. He chose an ordinary vehicle to allow him more freedom to directly observe conditions in the field.

However, the plan did not go smoothly. Residents still recognised Prabowo’s arrival and immediately gathered to greet him.

The visit was conducted suddenly. Teddy stated that Prabowo wanted to see firsthand the conditions of residents still living along the railway tracks in the Senen area.

“Yes, that’s right, this afternoon the President suddenly wanted to see the residents still living along the railway tracks in the Senen area,” he said.

Prabowo’s arrival surprised the residents. Several residents even claimed it was the first time a president had visited the area.

“Many residents were surprised earlier and said this was the first time a President had come to that area,” he said.

During the visit, Prabowo also listened to the residents’ aspirations. He promised to soon build decent housing for residents still living along the railway tracks.

“The President wants to build decent houses for residents still living along the railway tracks, 3 km from central Jakarta,” he said.
