Prabowo Extends Special Thanks to PDIP

President Prabowo Subianto specifically thanked the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) during a speech on the submission of the 2027 State Budget Bill and Financial Note in Jakarta on Friday. Under the Prabowo-Gibran administration, PDIP has often been perceived as a political party taking an opposing stance to the government. “I thank you, and a special thanks once again to PDIP,” Prabowo said. Prabowo also joked that his economic thinking, which has been referred to as Prabowonomics, is actually Marhaenism, the ideology of Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno. Therefore, Prabowo suggested it would be difficult for PDIP not to support him, given the party’s strong association with Bung Karno’s thinking. “Actually, this is not Prabowonomics, this is Marhaenism. It’s hard for PDIP not to support this,” he stated. This is not the first time Prabowo has thanked PDIP. On previous occasions, he has also praised the party’s political stance. At the same time, Prabowo said his administration still requires criticism, but on the other hand, the government also needs to work quickly for the people. He noted that the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) are now synergising well, for which he expressed gratitude. “I am thankful that there is now synergistic cooperation between the government and the DPR. This does not mean there is no democracy; we must have democracy, we must be supervised, we must be criticised. But we must work quickly for our people,” Prabowo said. He also stated that his administration will always work optimally for the prosperity of the Indonesian people.
