Prabowo Extends "Ramadhan Mubarak" Greetings from Jordanian Airspace
Jakarta – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto received an escort of two Jordanian Air Force F-16 fighter jets as his aircraft entered Jordanian airspace on Tuesday evening, 24 February. The Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta confirmed on Wednesday that this air escort was not merely a standard state security procedure, but rather a symbol of high respect from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan towards Indonesia’s head of state.
“Your Excellency Mr President, assalamualaikum warahmatullah. This is Lion One speaking. Your Excellency, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, we feel honoured to welcome you in Jordanian airspace,” said the Jordanian fighter pilot during an exchange of messages via air communication equipment.
From the right and left sides of the presidential aircraft, the Jordanian F-16s flew in precise formation, escorting President Prabowo’s plane until its approach to landing at Marka Military Airbase in Amman.
The atmosphere became increasingly warm when one of the F-16 pilots conveyed a Ramadhan message to President Prabowo.
“It is a great honour to escort your flight this evening. We hope you enjoy your visit and land safely. Ramadhan Mubarak, Sir,” said the pilot.
In response to the greeting, President Prabowo conveyed his appreciation and thanks for the honour bestowed upon him. Prabowo reciprocated warmly, expressing gratitude to King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan for the gesture of friendship extended to him.
“Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh Lion Flight, Indonesia One. This is President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia,” said Prabowo introducing himself.
During the exchange, President Prabowo thanked them for the escort provided and conveyed warm regards to King Abdullah II.
“Thank you very much, Lion Flight. This is Indonesia One. Once again, Ramadhan Mubarak. May you all be blessed in this holy month. Wassalamualaikum warrahmatullahi wabarakatuh,” said President Prabowo.
Shortly after the air escort concluded, President Prabowo’s aircraft landed at Marka Military Airbase. President Prabowo’s arrival marked the beginning of his official working visit agenda in Amman.
This visit is President Prabowo’s second to Jordan. During his first visit on 13 April 2025, the President also received a similar honour, being escorted by F-16 aircraft.
This visit is expected to further strengthen the partnership between the two nations, which has been robust in cooperation spanning education, religious affairs, Middle Eastern regional issues, and support for the Palestinian cause.
