Prabowo Extends Easter Greetings: May It Bring Peace and Goodness
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto has extended Easter greetings to the Christian community celebrating the holiday. The message was posted on his personal X account @prabowo on Sunday (5 April 2026). He expressed hope that Easter would bring peace and goodness to all who observe it. “Happy Easter to our Christian brothers and sisters. May Easter bring peace and goodness to us all,” stated Prabowo on Sunday. The greeting was signed by Prabowo as President of the Republic of Indonesia. In his message, Nasaruddin urged the faithful to pray for peace, tranquillity, and harmony for the Indonesian nation. “I, Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, extend my greetings for Easter 2026,” said the Minister in Jakarta on Saturday (4 April 2026). He emphasised the importance of using the Easter spirit as a foundation to strengthen brotherhood and maintain social harmony. “I urge that in the joy of this Easter celebration, the Christian community also pray for the people, nation, and state of Indonesia to live in an atmosphere of peace, tranquillity, coolness, and full harmony,” the Minister revealed. The Christian faithful have undergone the 40-day Lenten period, followed by Palm Sunday and the Holy Triduum—Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday Vigil—leading up to the Easter celebration.
