Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his sadness upon receiving reports regarding government officials engaging in misconduct, assuring that he will take firm action even if they are close to him.

“I shake my head, I am sad that every day I receive reports of officials misbehaving. I am sad that the people I appointed, the people I mentored, the people I gave honour and entrusted with important positions, once in office, they misbehave, they steal the people’s money,” said President Prabowo Subianto while delivering his remarks at the inauguration of the Marsinah Museum in Nganjuk Regency, East Java on Saturday, as monitored online from Jakarta.

Prabowo stated that he often receives the Head of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) for further instructions regarding examinations conducted on those close to the President.

“There are no exceptions, whether they are Prabowo’s people or not, whether they are close to me. That’s not the issue. If there are indications, then investigate,” the President added.

The President Prabowo reminded that every individual who is given the honour to serve as a government official must be more careful and protect themselves. He specifically highlighted that when appointed as an official, they must be responsible for that position to the state and the people.

For this reason, the Head of State asked all government officials to improve themselves and cleanse themselves of elements of corruption.

Specifically, President Prabowo reminded each head of agency to ensure that there are no officials who support activities that harm the community or are illegal.
