Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto revealed the reasons he personally delivered the Macro-Economic Framework and Core Policies of Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) for RAPBN 2027 at the DPR RI’s 19th Plenary Session for the Fifth Session Year 2025-2026, at the DPR/MPR complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Prabowo said he delivered it in person because Indonesia is currently facing geopolitical and geo-economic global challenges characterised by conflict, tension, and uncertainty. “We as a nation are facing geopolitical and geo-economic challenges full of conflict, tension, and uncertainty. Wars are taking place in many places, even in Europe, in the Middle East, in regions far from us, but which have a very large impact and influence on our lives,” Prabowo said in a speech watched via the live YouTube feed of the Presidential Secretariat on Wednesday.

“Therefore, given the conditions we face, I believe that the President of the Republic of Indonesia must be present in person to present the core ideas on the economy and the management of the state,” he added.

“Prabowo stated that he has been sworn before the people and state institutions to uphold the 1945 Constitution, including protecting all Indonesians, advancing the welfare and the intellectual development of the nation, and safeguarding Indonesia’s role in world peace and order.”

“According to the President, the APBN is not merely a financial document but a tool of the people’s struggle to protect citizens, strengthen the foundations of the national economy, ensure the welfare of citizens, and serve as a guide for the nation’s journey ahead.”

“The head of state said the APBN is prepared as a form of collective commitment to realise the nation’s aspirations as mandated in the 1945 Constitution, namely to build an Indonesia that is independent, sovereign, just, prosperous, and standing on its own two feet.”

“We have drafted the APBN as a form of shared commitment to realise the noble ideals enshrined in our 1945 Constitution — a constitution born from the long struggle for independence, a struggle that spanned centuries and claimed thousands, tens of thousands of our forebears — the goal being to realise an Indonesia that is independent, sovereign, just, prosperous, and standing on its own feet,” he said.

On the occasion, Prabowo also expressed appreciation to the leaders and members of the MPR, DPR, and DPD RI for holding the plenary session coinciding with the commemoration of National Awakening Day.

“President Prabowo Subianto personally presented to the DPR RI the Macro-Economic Framework and the KEM-PPKF for RAPBN 2027 in the 19th Plenary Session of the DPR RI for the 2025-2026 session year.”

“President Prabowo became the first President of the Republic of Indonesia to present the opening of the RAPBN, which includes the macroeconomic framework and the main policy of fiscal policy, before members of the DPR RI.”

“The meeting was attended by 451 members of the DPR RI, thereby establishing a quorum as determined by Speaker of the DPR Puan Maharani.”

“During the meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and the Merah Putih Cabinet lineup, including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, and Coordinating Minister for Politics and Security Djamari Chaniago.”

“Also in attendance were Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman.”

“In addition, Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo, Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority Friderica Widyasari Dewi, and Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation Anggito Abimanyu were also in attendance.”

“Today’s DPR plenary discussed three main agendas: the government’s delivery of the KEM-PPKF RAPBN for 2027; the Legislation Body’s report on the evaluation of changes to the second Prolegnas Priority Bills for 2026 followed by decision-making; and the factions’ opinions on a DPR Commission III-initiated Bill concerning amendments to Law No. 2 of 2002 on the Indonesian National Police, followed by a decision to become a DPR-originated Bill.”
