President Prabowo Subianto exchanged ideas with three former Thai prime ministers at Wisma Danantara, Jakarta, on Thursday. The three are Thaksin Shinawatra (PM 2001-2006), Yingluck Shinawatra (PM 2011-2014), and Paetongtarn Shinawatra (PM 2024-2025). Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the meeting was also attended by Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, CIO Pandu Sjahrir, and COO Dony Oskaria. “The meeting took place in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the close friendship that has been established for a long time,” Teddy said, describing the atmosphere of President Prabowo’s meeting with the three influential figures from the Shinawatra family. The meeting was held in a long-table format, with President Prabowo flanked by Danantara executives. The three former Thai PMs sat opposite Prabowo. “Thaksin Shinawatra, who currently serves as a member of the Danantara Advisory Board, provided input and exchanged ideas with President Prabowo and Danantara leadership regarding various opportunities to strengthen investment, asset management strategies, and national economic development oriented towards long-term growth,” Teddy stated. Teddy added that the meeting reflects the Indonesian government’s efforts to continuously strengthen friendship networks with world leaders and figures through close communication. “Through close communication with world leaders and figures, the Indonesian government is strengthening friendship networks while opening space for the exchange of ideas and experiences as part of efforts to expand international cooperation and strengthen Indonesia’s position amidst evolving global dynamics,” he said. Prior to the meeting at Wisma Danantara, President Prabowo had received Thaksin, Yingluck, and Paetongtarn at his private residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Wednesday evening.
