Prabowo Establishes Task Force to Accelerate Economic Growth

President Prabowo Subianto has issued Presidential Decree No. 4 of 2026 on the Task Force (Satgas) for Accelerating Government Programmes to Support Economic Growth Enhancement.

In the considerations section, it is stated that to realise Asta Cita towards Golden Indonesia 2045, regarding the strengthening of the people’s economy, acceleration of government programmes is required to support increased economic growth.

“To realise Asta Cita towards Golden Indonesia 2045 related to strengthening the people’s economy, acceleration of government programmes is required to support increased economic growth,” states the consideration in Presidential Decree No. 4 of 2026, which was released on Saturday, 18 April 2026.

Article 3 stipulates that the Task Force is under and accountable to the President. Its duties include coordinating the acceleration of government programme implementation, covering the Economic Package Programme, Economic Stimulus Programme, Government Priority Programme, main programmes in several ministries/agencies, and other programmes based on the President’s directives.

Additionally, the Task Force establishes integrated and collaborative strategic steps, conducts monitoring and evaluation of the realisation of supporting budgets for the programmes, and takes swift and precise steps to resolve strategic issues. The Task Force also carries out other duties assigned by the President.

The composition of the Task Force is regulated in Article 4, with First Chair held by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, while Second Chair is held by State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi. There are three deputy chairs, namely Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy.

Task Force members consist of several ministers and agency heads, including the Minister of Home Affairs, Minister of Manpower, Minister of Trade, Minister of Industry, Minister of Tourism, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of BPN.

Furthermore, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Minister of Public Works, Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas, Minister of Transportation, and Minister of Communication and Digital.

In addition, Minister of Cooperatives, Minister of SMEs, Minister of Creative Economy/Head of Creative Economy Agency, Minister of Social Affairs, Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers/Head of BP2MI, Minister of Environment and Forestry/Head of BPLH, Head of State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency, Chief of the Indonesian National Police, Attorney General, Head of BPKP, Head of National Nutrition Agency, Head of National Food Agency, and Head of BP Danantara Implementing Agency.

Article 8 emphasises that the Task Force may coordinate with ministries/agencies, provincial, regency/city regional governments, institutions, and other stakeholders. This decree takes effect from the date of its issuance on 11 March 2026.
