Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto is building a national space for discussion through a meeting with leaders from across generations and heads of political parties to anticipate the increasingly complex global geopolitical impacts. ‘President Prabowo emphasised the importance of unity of stance and national preparedness to safeguard the stability and security of the country,’ said Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia after the meeting at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday evening, 3 March. He said this is meant to enable anticipation of global events to secure the nation. The meeting brought together Prabowo with senior figures, including former President and Vice President, former Foreign Ministers, and several party leaders, to discuss geopolitical developments and Indonesia’s readiness to face them. Moreover, Bahlil noted that all actions taken by the government to date are a manifestation of Indonesia’s preparedness to anticipate any eventuality amid global dynamics. At the same time, PKS Chairman Al Muzzammil Yusuf reiterated that Indonesia’s decision to join the Board of Peace (BoP) is the most feasible option in Indonesia’s effort to respond to current dynamics. ‘From my perspective, what he explained is the hardest of the options on the table, the most likely among those available, not an ideal choice,’ said Al Muzzammil. Regarding the situation in Iran and Israel, Al Muzzammil stated that Indonesia has strategically and responsively safeguarded national stability amid the global crisis. This readiness includes food security and national energy resilience. ‘In essence, it is about our defence, our readiness to face that crisis. He explained our food supply, our energy preparedness, and our high-level dialogue,’ he said. This represents a commitment to creating a collaborative and inclusive space in state administration that prioritises national interests. Among the former leaders at the meeting were Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the 6th President of Indonesia; Joko Widodo, the 7th President; Jusuf Kalla, the 10th and 12th Vice President; Boediono, the 11th Vice President; and Ma’ruf Amin, the 13th Vice President. Also present were party leaders including PAN’s Zulkifli Hasan, NasDem’s Surya Paloh, Democratic Party’s Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, PKB’s Muhaimin Iskandar, PKS’s Al Muzammil Yusuf, and Golkar’s Bahlil Lahadalia. Several former Foreign Ministers, including Alwi Shihab, Hasan Wirajuda, and Marty Natalegawa, along with the members of the Merah Putih Cabinet, were also in attendance.
