He conveyed this during a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi at Akasaka Palace, Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday.

This meeting was an important part of Prabowo’s official visit to Japan.

“Amidst the turmoil in global geopolitical dynamics, Indonesia and Japan must be part of the stability and solutions,” he emphasized.

In his introduction, the president underscored Indonesia and Japan’s close friendship and strategic partnership based on trust and mutual respect for shared interests.

Furthermore, Prabowo voiced confidence that the bilateral meeting would yield concrete outcomes to strengthen ties between the two countries, particularly in strategic sectors.

“I am confident that this meeting will produce concrete steps that can be immediately followed up to strengthen relations between Japan and Indonesia,” he stated.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Takaichi applauded the progress of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic and security sectors.

She also emphasized Japan’s commitment to further strengthening its partnership with Indonesia.

The prime minister then conveyed her hope to jointly strengthen and prosper the Indo-Pacific region through closer cooperation between the two countries.

“I am grateful for the progress of various forms of cooperation between Japan and Indonesia, particularly in the economic and security sectors. I look forward to working together to strengthen and prosper the Indo-Pacific region,” she remarked.

Besides discussing bilateral relations improvement, the meeting also sent a clear signal to the world that Indonesia and Japan are prepared to play strategic roles as pillars of stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.

With a shared vision, strong trust, and a commitment to concrete cooperation, the two countries are now moving together toward a deeper, more strategic, and more impactful partnership for the world.
