Prabowo Ensures Public Aspirations, Including from TikTok, Will Be Addressed

President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that the government is following up on all proposals submitted by the public, including those originating from social media platforms such as TikTok.

He made these remarks during the closing ceremony of the National Seminar of the Convention on Science, Technology, and Indonesian Industry (KSTI) held at the Jakarta Convention Centre on Sunday (28/6). The event was attended by 2,600 participants, including rectors and academics. During the session, he assured that proposals from universities would be received and acted upon to address existing societal issues.

“I have received a significant number of proposals and questions today. I promise to attend to them one by one. My brothers and sisters, let alone proposals from professors, even proposals from a child in a village that reach me directly via TikTok or other means, I will follow up immediately,” Prabende explained.

He stated that such openness reflects the government’s stance in facing every problem transparently.

Prabowo also noted that technological progress enables the government to respond to issues more swiftly. He highlighted that social media, in particular, allows problems in remote regions to be identified and addressed.

“Technology can facilitate that. Difficulties in a single village in Nias can be known directly, and we can resolve them quickly,” he added.

However, he cautioned that technology does not always bring positive impacts, citing nuclear technology as an example of something that can pose risks.

To this end, Prabowo urged the academic community to deepen their research into the utilisation of technology, specifically focusing on methods that can be optimised to support national progress.

On that occasion, he also touched upon the key to a nation’s success: the courage to acknowledge difficulties, identify the root causes, and work hard to find solutions.

“Because I believe that difficulties must be faced. Difficulties must be confronted, and we must be brave enough to face them, brave enough to admit them, and work hard to find solutions to those difficulties,” he continued.
