All regions will be developed. Waste processing has now become a national priority; within two to three years, we must control waste across all of Indonesia,” said Prabowo after inspecting the Environmentally and Educationally Based Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST BLE) in Banyumas, Central Java, on Tuesday (28/4/2026).

Prabowo was impressed by the waste management process at TPST BLE. According to him, the process is carried out using equipment that is not overly sophisticated but effective in managing waste.

“I am very impressed and thank you, Mr Regent and the department head; this is a very good breakthrough initiative, so to speak, waste processing using technology that is not too sophisticated but effective,” Prabowo stated.

“Most of the products are local, and within a complete system from households to the district level, so I think this is very effective,” he continued.

Prabowo said that the Banyumas TPST is being followed by other regions. In fact, he said, it is being studied by other countries.

“This is an example; many provinces, many districts, even from other countries come here. So I received a report from the Central Java governor that many districts have already followed suit, there are 13 districts, yes,” he remarked.

For context, TPST BLE operates to process around 574.52 tonnes of waste per day, or 77.76% of the total household and similar waste in Banyumas Regency, which reaches 738.84 tonnes per day. Thus, the unprocessed waste remaining is 164.32 tonnes per day, or 22.24%.
