President Prabowo Subianto conveyed a message of harmony and unity during the commemoration of Dharma Santi Year 2026 or Saka New Year 1948. Prabowo emphasised that Dharma Santi is not merely a ceremony, but a moment for mutual forgiveness and strengthening brotherhood.

“On this auspicious occasion, I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of myself and the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, extend congratulations on celebrating Dharma Santi 2026 to all Hindus in the country,” said Prabowo in a video uploaded to the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram on Friday (17/4/2026).

“Dharma Santi is a moment for mutual forgiveness, strengthening brotherhood, and affirming Dharma values in our lives,” he continued.

According to him, the spirit following Nyepi Day should serve as a starting point for strengthening social harmony and national unity. He then mentioned the importance of the ‘Tat Twam Asi’ philosophy as a foundation for living with mutual respect and maintaining balance.

“After Nyepi, we move forward together in the spirit of harmony, peace, and unity. The value of ‘Tat Twam Asi’, living with mutual respect and balanced living, is the strength of our nation,” he stated.

Prabowo affirmed that Indonesia is a great nation built on diversity, yet it upholds tolerance. He emphasised that differences are not obstacles, but strengths for tightening unity.

“A nation that prioritises gotong royong, cooperation, mutual support, and mutual love,” he said.

Furthermore, Prabowo expressed his belief that the Hindu community has an important role in maintaining social harmony and strengthening national unity. He invited Hindus to continue adhering firmly to the teachings of ‘Tri Hita Karana’, namely maintaining harmonious relations with fellow humans, nature, and God.

“And I believe that Indonesian Hindus have and will continue to be an important part in maintaining social harmony, national unity, and continuing to build an Indonesia that is just, prosperous, and stands firmly on its own feet,” he said.

“For Hindus, let us always affirm and hold firmly to Tri Hita Karana; maintaining relations with fellow humans, with nature, and with God,” Prabowo continued.

At the end of his message, Prabowo invited all elements of the nation to maintain togetherness and continue building a just and prosperous Indonesia.

“We maintain togetherness, we strengthen national unity, and let us together build a just and prosperous Indonesia,” he said.

In his message, Prabowo also expressed apologies for not being able to attend the national commemoration directly.

“On this occasion, I apologise to my children in Bali and all the people of Bali, because I cannot attend the National Dharma Santi Commemoration 2026 or 1948 Saka in person,” he stated.
