Jakarta (ANTARA) - During a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, President Prabowo Subianto emphasised to his officials that the 2027 State Budget (APBN) must be maximised for social welfare and protection.

President Prabowo’s directive was conveyed by Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara, who reported on the results of the 7th Plenary Session of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the first session of the 2026-2027 period at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday (29/9).

In the meeting, the House of Representatives and the government ratified the 2027 State Budget Bill (RUU APBN) to become the 2027 State Budget Law.

“I reported the amount of state revenue to be collected, as well as the expenditure amount. State revenue is over Rp3,400 trillion, while state expenditure is over Rp4,100 trillion. Furthermore, in the short term, I informed the President regarding the importance of maintaining economic conditions, including the strengthening of various forms of assistance required for the current situation,” said Finance Minister Suahasil, answering journalists’ questions after the meeting at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Suahasil then reiterated the President’s instructions to herself and other state officials attending the meeting.

“The President’s directive is to ensure the State Budget remains credible and to implement continuous, measurable efficiency so that the state budget can be truly maximised for welfare, social protection, and infrastructure development,” Suahasil stated.

In the same meeting, Suahasil continued by noting that issues discussed also included investments to be managed by Danantara, as well as the collaboration between the State Budget and Danantara in development programmes.

“We are collaborating very closely between Danantara and the State Budget. In essence, Danantara and the State Budget are collaborating and sharing tasks to maintain Indonesia’s economy,” said Suahasil.

She added that the State Budget is used to finance public service programmes, basic infrastructure, and government operations. “Meanwhile, Danantara focuses on investment. Investment will be very strong within Danantara. Today, we discussed much regarding the movement and synergy that we need to undertake together,” concluded Finance Minister Suahasil.
