Prabowo Emphasises Loyalty and Classification of Friends at PAN Anniversary

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subiante has emphasised the importance of loyalty and the classification of friends across various conditions, ranging from moments of joy to those who remain present during times of difficulty.

“Brothers and sisters, there are various groups of friends. Friends have various classifications. There are friends present in times of joy,” said Prabowo during his speech commemorating the 28th anniversary of the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Jakarta on Friday.

He explained that there are friends present when one holds power or during beautiful times. However, according to Prabowo, there is another type of friend considered highly precious: those who are present during times of hardship.

He assessed that shared experiences in struggle serve as an important foundation for building friendships, including the close relationship established with PAN.

Prabowo expressed his appreciation to PAN cadres, whom he considers to share similar values of struggle. He asserted that these values of struggle require courage, perseverance, and loyalty to be maintained.

In his political endeavours as a presidential candidate across several election periods, Prabowo has consistently received support from PAN, despite experiencing several defeats in previous contests.

“Discipline is my breath. Loyalty is my soul. Honour is everything,” said Prabowo, quoting the teachings of his seniors during his service in the military.

He underlined that primary loyalty must be directed towards the nation, the state, and the people of Indonesia.

“The first loyalty is to our nation, state, and people. That loyalty is easy to utter, but difficult to practice,” Prabowo remarked.
