Prabowo Emphasizes Legal Certainty in Front of Global Investors JAKARTA - Danantara Indonesia’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir said President Prabowo Subianto gave an affirmation regarding Indonesia guaranteeing legal certainty for global investor candidates. In a business meeting that took place in Washington DC, United States (US) on Friday (20/2) local time, Pandu delivered the statement which received appreciation from global investment company leaders. According to him, the appreciation of investors is inseparable from the direct leadership of the President in opening up this strategic dialogue space. “Yes, earlier there were probably many additional interests from these investors to invest and collaborate in Indonesia and also outside Indonesia,” said Pandu, quoted by Antara. He said investors specifically appreciated President Prabowo’s commitment to strengthening the legal system and regulatory certainty as the main foundation for long-term investment. According to Pandu, Prabowo’s direct presence and involvement in receiving global CEOs is also a strong signal of Indonesia’s seriousness in building strategic partnerships. In fact, a number of investors are considering opening representative offices in Indonesia as a form of long-term commitment. “Because their language boots on the ground is very important and they really appreciate that the President can accept them all,” he explained. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Bakrie assessed that the President’s emphasis on corporate governance and legal certainty was a central message that strengthened the confidence of global business. “We saw for ourselves that, first, Danantara was very appreciated as a trading partner rather than the CEOs and secondly, of course, we saw that the President emphasized corporate governance and also certainty rather than the law, and it was really underlined and appreciated,” said Anindya. He said Danantara’s approach in conducting risk assessment and encouraging joint participation in crowd-in was in line with the President’s direction to build a national economy in a cooperative and sustainable manner. The meeting confirmed President Prabowo’s active role in leading Indonesian economic diplomacy, as well as strengthening Indonesia’s position as a stable, reliable, and open strategic partner for global investment.
