Prabowo Emphasises Indonesia's Continued Efforts to Find Real Solutions for Palestine
Jakarta, VIVA – President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continuing its search for real solutions for Palestinian independence.
Prabowo made the assertion during the Business Summit at the US Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC, United States, on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 local time.
Prabowo began by discussing his working visit to the United States, undertaken at the invitation of US President Donald Trump in connection with the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace.
“As you know, I am here at the invitation of the President of the United States for a very important meeting of the Board of Peace. This is the first official meeting of the board, which was established to handle the implementation and sustainability of the ceasefire in Gaza,” Prabowo said.
He went on to emphasise that Indonesia continues to seek tangible solutions for Palestine’s future.
“We are striving to continue forging a path towards real and lasting solutions for the Palestinian issue,” he said.
Beyond that, Prabowo noted that his working visit to the United States also involved the signing of a trade tariff agreement between Indonesia and the US.
“In addition, I am here to finalise a major trade agreement between our two countries. I believe this is an agreement of great significance for our businesses and investors, both in our two nations and across the broader Pacific region,” he said.
“This sends a clear signal that Indonesia and the United States choose to continue and deepen economic cooperation, stronger market access, and greater certainty for the business community,” Prabowo affirmed.
