Prabowo Donates 25 Cattle for Eid al-Adha in South Sulawesi, Each Cow Weighing Up to About 1.1 Tonnes
President Prabowo Subianto donated 25 sacrificial cattle for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri, which will be distributed to the South Sulawesi region.
The sacrificed cattle owned by President Prabowo are reported to weigh over one ton and have been confirmed to be healthy and to meet eligibility standards before slaughter.
‘Yes, Alhamdulillah we have received sacrificial cattle from Mr. President Prabowo Subianto. South Sulawesi will receive 25 head, and on average these cattle weigh as much as about 1.1 tonnes,’ said South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman to reporters on Thursday (21/5).
The sacrificial cattle will be distributed to 24 regencies and cities in South Sulawesi.
‘Previously, Toraja and Selayar have received them. This year we will send to Jeneponto as well, and to areas in need, rotating among several regencies. We hope they will be used well and, God willing, can help our fellow citizens who are less fortunate,’ he said.
Meanwhile, cattle breeder Rahmat said President Prabowo Subianto chose a Simental breed sacrificial animal aged 3 years 4 months, with a weight of 1 tonne 10 kilograms.
‘The health of the sacrificial cattle is maintained with extra care, from feeding to other care,’ Rahmat said.
The sacrificial cattle are given care, starting with a special diet, such as tofu by-product (ampas tahu) combined with elephant grass (rumput gajah).
‘Massaging them three times a day, morning, noon, and evening. The care must be extra due to their large weight; if their pen cleanliness is not maintained, their legs can be prone to problems,’ he explained.
Rahmat hopes that next Eid al-Adha they can still provide a sacrificial cow for President Prabowo Subianto with even better quality.
‘Our hope is that it will be a blessing for the recipients, and may in the coming years we can still provide the best cattle for the President’s sacrifice in South Sulawesi,’ he said.
