Prabowo Donates 18 Head of Cattle for Eid al-Adha in Southeast Sulawesi
President Prabowo Subianto has donated 18 head of cattle to the province of Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra) for Eid al-Adha celebrations in 1447 Hijri/2026.
The Acting Head of the Sultra Department of Food Crops and Livestock, Muhammad Taufik, stated that the number of sacrificial animals donated by the President this year is the same as last year.
“Of the total, 17 head of cattle will be distributed to 17 regencies and cities in Sultra, while one head of cattle is intended for the provincial level,” said Muhammad Taufik when contacted in Kendari, Sunday (17/5).
The recipient areas include Kolaka Regency, East Kolaka (Koltim), North Kolaka (Kolut), Bombana, Konawe, South Konawe (Konsel), North Konawe (Konut), and the Konawe Islands (Konkep).
Furthermore, Muna Regency, West Muna (Mubar), Buton, North Buton (Butur), South Buton (Busel), Central Buton (Buteng), Wakatobi, Kendari City, and Baubau City.
Muhammad Taufik revealed that in selecting the sacrificial cattle donated by President Prabowo, priority was given to choosing animals from local farmers in each of the recipient regencies and cities while still adhering to established criteria.
“The sacrificial cattle from the President will be prioritised from local farmers in each regency and city, with a minimum weight standard of 800 kilograms and in good health,” said Muhammad Taufik.
He explained that they are still conducting monitoring in the field to ensure that all proposed animals meet the criteria before being officially designated ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri.
