Prabowo donates 1.2-tonne cow to flood-affected Dayeuhkolot residents
The sacrificial cow will be prioritised for flood-affected residents in Bandung Regency.
President Prabowo Subianto has donated a 1.2-tonne sacrificial cow for residents of Bandung, West Java, during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah.
Bandung Regency Agriculture Department Head Ina Dewi Kania confirmed the selected cow weighed approximately 1.1 to 1.2 tonnes following strict weighing and selection by central government authorities.
“It weighed around 1.1 to 1.2 tonnes according to yesterday’s weighing,” she said in Bandung on Tuesday.
The sacrificial cow will be prioritised for flood-affected residents in Bandung Regency.
“It is planned for the flood-hit areas in Dayeuhkolot, at DKM Miftahul Jannah,” she added.
The location was chosen to directly target disaster-affected areas and ensure meat distribution reaches the intended beneficiaries.
The sacrificial cow remains at its original farm and will be transported to the slaughter site ahead of the sacrifice day.
The selected cow is sourced from local Bandung Regency breeders previously proposed to the central government via the local Agriculture Department.
The selection process was rigorous, including health checks, laboratory tests, and direct inspections by the State Secretariat team before being designated as the President’s sacrificial animal.
