Prabowo: Do Not Use Your Intelligence for Corruption and to Enrich Other Nations
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has called on intelligent individuals in Indonesia to continue defending and contributing to the building of the nation and the state.
The Head of State does not want the intelligence of technocrats, scientists, and engineers to be used to deceive the people, cover up corruption, or enrich other nations.
“Now is the time for technocrats, now is the time for scientists, now is the time for engineers, professors—become Red and White professors, become professors who defend the people, become engineers for the nation and the people,” said Prabowo at the groundbreaking ceremony for 13 downstreaming projects held in Cilacap, Central Java, on Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Prabowo emphasised that he does not hate other nations, but he does not want Indonesia’s national wealth to flow abroad.
“We do not hate other nations; we do not want our people to remain poor because our money is taken abroad,” he stated.
Even if someone is very intelligent but unwilling to defend the Indonesian nation, the Head of State allows them to leave.
“If you wish, please do—do not join the government I lead. Choose. Every person may choose. Choose to defend your people or choose to serve others. I will not tolerate those who are not patriotic,” he said.
According to him, there are entrepreneurs in various sectors who receive facilities but instead hand over Indonesia’s natural resources to other nations.
“We give mining concessions, we give plantation concessions, we give credit from government banks, banks owned by the people, but when they succeed in their businesses, the proceeds are not placed in Indonesia. I think the Indonesian nation does not want this to continue,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo wants the sources of the nation’s wealth to flow and be enjoyed by the Indonesian people.
He also called on the ranks of the Red and White Cabinet as well as the Danantara officials to realise this.
“I urge you, I awaken you, I awaken you. Mobilise from your heart, mobilise from your heart your love for the nation and the people. Act for our nation and people. This is a golden opportunity. This is a golden opportunity. We already understand our wealth. We already comprehend, we have seen the data. Now it’s just a matter of whether we are capable of managing it,” he explained.
