Prabowo: Do Not Believe Everything on Social Media, They Want Us to be Weak

President Prabowo Subiability has requested that the public exercise caution regarding information circulating on social media. He reminded citizens not to immediately trust all information found on these platforms.

Prabowo made these remarks while attending the 100th anniversary commemoration of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor in Ponorogo, East Java, on Saturday (19/09/2026). Prabowo specifically called upon students and the younger generation to be wary of social media content.

“My children, you are the ones who will take over. You are the ones who will continue our struggle,” said Prabowo.

“Do not trust those whom I call foreign agents. Do not trust them. They have money, they can pay buzzers, and they can manipulate social media. Be careful. Do not believe everything that is on social media,” he added.

Prabowo assessed that information spread through social media could affect the morale and self-confidence of the people. He alluded to parties that wish to see Indonesia become a weak nation.

“They want to lower our spirit. They want to lower our courage. They want to lower our self-confidence. They want us to be weak. They want us to remain poor. They want us to be their slaves forever. We do not want to be the slaves of other nations,” he asserted.

Prabowo stated that Indonesia must become a strong nation. He emphasised that the Indonesian people must be capable of standing on their own two feet.

“We will become a great nation. We will stand on our own feet,” he concluded.
