Prabowo Distributes Staple Goods Packages to Aceh Disaster Survivors After Eid Prayers
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto distributed packages of essential goods after performing Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers with flood disaster survivors at Masjid Darussalam in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh, on Saturday (21/3).
According to Antara, after the Eid prayers, Prabowo engaged in silaturahmi and greeted local residents to hand over nine-essential-items packages (sembako) to representatives of the recipient residents in front of the mosque.
Prabowo then greeted the enthusiastic residents who welcomed him in the mosque courtyard. The residents also wished Prabowo a happy Eid al-Fitr, with some even requesting Holiday Allowances (THR).
During interactions with the residents, Prabowo also inspected temporary housing (huntara) around Masjid Darussalam built for flood disaster survivors in Aceh Tamiang.
After Prabowo left the location, residents still crowded the mosque courtyard to collect the sembako loaded on two trucks.
Prabowo’s visit to perform Eid prayers and halal bihalal in Aceh Tamiang was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian.
Additionally, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, and TNI Chief General Agus Subianto were present.
Previously, Prabowo stated that recovery in the Aceh Tamiang area was relatively quick. He said that currently, evacuees are no longer staying in tents.
Prabowo said the improvement and recovery of post-disaster conditions in Aceh Tamiang was very fast. He added that Aceh Tamiang is almost 100 percent recovered.
“No more in tents, 100 percent all have left the tents. They have entered temporary housing or permanent housing,” said Prabowo as reported by detik.
