Prabowo Distributes Rp 72 Billion Worth of Beef to Aceh Residents

President Prabowo Subianto has allocated Rp 72.7 billion for the purchase of cattle whose meat will be distributed to residents of Aceh. The information was conveyed by Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian during a disaster management meeting with the House of Representatives on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.

According to Tito, the beef will be distributed to 3,042 villages across 19 districts and cities in Aceh. However, Tito did not specify how many head of cattle the President had purchased.

“We also report that the President has provided assistance amounting to Rp 72,750,000,000 for the purchase of cattle and distribution of meat across 19 districts and cities in Aceh,” Tito said at the DPR complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The former National Police chief explained that the Ministry of Home Affairs had followed up on Prabowo’s directive by procuring the cattle. The animals would then be slaughtered and the meat distributed on the same day, which coincided with one day before the start of Ramadan 2026.

“The cattle purchases have been made and we have issued a circular letter for distribution today, one day before the fasting month. The key point is that residents of 3,042 villages must receive their share of beef,” he said.

Prabowo distributed the beef to disaster-affected residents of Aceh as part of the meugang tradition of welcoming Ramadan. This was exemplified by the Pidie District Government in Aceh Province, which distributed 119 head of cattle on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.

Pidie Deputy Regent Alzaizi said Prabowo had disbursed a budget for the cattle distribution in the area. Alzaizi stated that Prabowo’s assistance was channelled to 5,547 families spread across eight sub-districts affected by flooding in late November 2025.
