Prabowo distributes 1,098 sacrificial cattle for 2026 Eid al-Adha to all regencies and cities

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com — President Prabowo Subianto has distributed 1,098 sacrificial cattle for the 2026 Eid al-Adha festival to all regencies and cities. ‘His Excellency the President has kindly distributed 1,098 sacrificial cattle to all provinces, regencies, and cities,’ said Deputy Minister of the State Secretariat (Wamensesneg) Juri Ardiantoro at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May 2026). The cattle consist of 598 allocated to local governments and 500 to social, religious institutions, and Islamic boarding schools. ‘Thus, 598 for the regions, and 500 for social institutions, religious bodies, Islamic boarding schools, and community leaders,’ he added. According to Juri, the cattle were purchased using the national budget through the Presidential Social Assistance allocation. Juri noted that all cattle were sourced from local farmers, aiming to enhance the productivity and quality of domestic livestock. ‘The President also hopes this will be a momentum for developing Indonesia’s livestock industry independently and fulfilling domestic food requirements, especially beef,’ he said.
