Prabowo Dismisses Collapse Predictions, Says Indonesia Growing Stronger Amid Global Crises

President Prabowo Subianto addressed predictions that Indonesia would collapse, stating that the country is actually becoming stronger despite a world at war. He made the remarks while giving directives at a Plenary Cabinet Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (20/7/2026).

Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the Red and White Cabinet ministers, noting that many had worked independently without constant supervision as he focused on critical matters over the past two years. He praised their initiative and said their collective efforts had produced proud achievements.

He then addressed the repeated forecasts of economic ruin. ‘They said this month it will collapse, this month it will collapse, this month it will collapse. It turns out we are getting stronger day by day, even though the world is at war,’ he stated.

Prabowo emphasised that Indonesia is growing stronger amid global crises. He noted that while many countries are anxious about food security, Indonesia has achieved self-sufficiency. He added that in the energy sector, Indonesia is more prepared than other nations. He warned, however, that this should not lead to complacency.
