Prabowo Discusses with Journalists and Experts in Hambalang for 6.5 Hours, What Was Discussed?
President Prabowo Subianto invited several journalists, observers, and experts from various fields to his private residence in Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, for a discussion on current issues and developments in strategic domestic policies.
The Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI, Angga Raka Prabowo, when contacted in Jakarta in the early hours of Thursday, explained that the discussion in Hambalang took place on Tuesday evening, 17 March, until the early hours of Wednesday, 18 March 2026.
“The President conducted discussions and interviews with several journalists, observers, and experts regarding current issues to respond to global geopolitical dynamics and developments in strategic domestic policies. This meeting served as a space for in-depth discussion on the government’s direction in facing challenges and answering important questions that are topics of public conversation,” said Angga Raka Prabowo, explaining the content of the Hambalang meeting.
“The discussion, which took place from 7:00 PM to 1:30 AM Western Indonesia Time on 17 March 2026, is expected to be a concrete step in building national optimism to realise the implementation of national transformation,” he added.
In the meeting with several experts and journalists, he explained that President Prabowo reaffirmed his full commitment to strengthening synergy with various elements of the nation.
“The President is fully committed to strengthening synergy with various elements of the nation, while also inviting all parties to work together to build the country,” said the Head of Bakom RI.
On the official social media account of the President of the Republic of Indonesia @presidenrepublikindonesia, managed by the Indonesian Government Communication Agency, the discussion event took place in a roundtable format, with President Prabowo seated between Retno Pinasti, a senior journalist who currently serves as the editor-in-chief of SCTV-Indosiar, and Hasan Nasbi, former head of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) and political consultant.
At the same discussion table were Muhammad Chatib Basri, former Minister of Finance, economist, and lecturer at Harvard University; Najwa Shihab, senior journalist and founder of Narasi; Rizal Mallarangeng, founder of the Freedom Institute, columnist, and observer; and Mardigu Wowiek Prasantyo, a content creator, entrepreneur, and philanthropist.
