Prabowo Discusses Technology and Robotics Development During Danantara Visit
President Prabowo Subianto has once again placed significant emphasis on accelerating the mastery of national technology. This was reflected in his visit to the Danantara building on Thursday (4/6), where the agenda included discussions on technology development, robotics cooperation, and the strengthening of science and technology-based education.
The Minister of State Secretary, Prasetyorn Hadi, explained that President Prabowo’s visits to Danantara are not a new occurrence. According to him, the Head of State routinely interacts with Danantara as an institution playing a key role in executing various government priority programmes.
“In fact, the President frequently visits routinely, especially with Danantara serving as our Sovereign Wealth Fund, which executes priority programmes, including downstreaming and industrialisation,” Prasetyo told reporters on Thursday (4/6).
In this meeting, the focus of the discussion moved towards efforts to accelerate technological mastery, which is considered vital for supporting Indonesia’s future competitiveness. Several reports received by Prabowo pertained to technology development, opportunities for cooperation in the field of robotics, and the strengthening of educational collaboration.
Prasetyo revealed that the government is also paying close attention to human resource development through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based education. This step is considered a crucial foundation for supporting industrial transformation and national technological requirements.
“Today, there were reports concerning technology issues, robotics cooperation, and how educational cooperation, particularly in STEM, can accelerate the mastery of the technology we need for our nation’s interests,” he said.
These discussions align with the role of Danantara, which is directed not only to support the financing of strategic projects but also to serve as an instrument in accelerating national downstreaming and industrialisation.
Amidst increasingly intense global competition, mastering technology is viewed as one of the keys to increasing the added value of domestic industry while simultaneously strengthening Indonesia’s economic independence.
