President Prabowo Subianto has once again demonstrated significant attention to accelerating national technological mastery. This was reflected in his visit to the Danantara Building on Thursday afternoon, where one of the agendas involved discussing technology development, robotics cooperation, and strengthening science and technology-based education. Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi explained that Prabowo’s visit to Danantara was not a new occurrence. According to him, the Head of State routinely interacts with Danantara as an institution responsible for executing various government priority programmes. “Actually, the President routinely visits, especially with Danantara as our Sovereign Wealth Fund which runs priority programmes, including downstreaming and industrialisation,” Prasetyo told reporters on Thursday. In this meeting, the discussion focused on efforts to accelerate technological mastery, which is deemed important to support Indonesia’s future competitiveness. Several reports received by Prabowo related to technology development, potential cooperation in the robotics field, and strengthening educational collaboration. Prasetyo revealed that the government is also paying attention to human resource development through STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) based education. This step is considered an important foundation to support industrial transformation and national technology needs. “Today there were reports regarding technology issues, regarding robotics cooperation, and how educational cooperation, especially STEM, is aimed at accelerating the mastery of technology we need for the benefit of our nation,” he said. The discussion aligns with Danantara’s role, which is not only directed at supporting the financing of strategic projects but also serving as an instrument in accelerating national downstreaming and industrialisation. Amid increasingly tight global competition, technological mastery is considered one of the keys to increasing the added value of domestic industry while strengthening Indonesia’s economic independence.
