Prabowo Directs Tourism Minister to Boost Tourist Numbers During Eid Holiday Period

President Prabowo has instructed Tourism Minister Widi to actively visit major tourist destinations to ensure their preparedness for welcoming visitors during the Eid holiday period.

“I ask the Minister of Tourism to actively visit each tourism destination, promote and encourage every aspect of tourism in our country,” said President Prabowo during a Cabinet Plenary Session at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday.

President Prabowo, accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, led the Cabinet Plenary Session, which specifically addressed government preparedness across various sectors ahead of Eid.

The Cabinet Plenary Session held today marks the first to be conducted at the State Palace in 2026.

In front of the assembled cabinet ministers and state officials, President Prabowo also highlighted the impact of conflict in the Western Asia region, particularly involving Iran, the United States, and Zionist Israel, on Indonesia.

According to the President, crises must be managed calmly.

“The world is full of uncertainty. We see that crises are affecting many countries, and we must address this crisis, but the economy must continue to function, and people must remain calm. We still possess the strength and capability to ensure that the wheels of life do not stop. The situation, on the whole, remains manageable,” said President Prabowo.

The President then issued directives to all ministries and agencies, particularly those involved in managing holiday travel and return migration.

“For all ministries and agencies, I hope that we carry out preparations for Eid. We must ensure that this year’s holiday travel proceeds smoothly, safely, comfortably, and joyfully. Prioritise road safety, and prepare all aspects thoroughly,” said the President.
