Prabowo: Despite Repeated Defeats, NTB Remained Loyal to Me

President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated the utilisation of five dams from West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, on Friday (10/7/2026). In his remarks ahead of the inauguration of the five dams, Prabowo expressed his appreciation to the people of NTB.

“I feel very proud, I feel honoured to be invited today to meet directly with the people of NTB, who by coincidence have always supported me,” he said.

“Although I lost many times, NTB remained loyal to me. I feel I still owe a great deal to the people of NTB. Rest assured, we still have several years to work,” he continued.

The five dams inaugurated by Prabowo were Meninting Dam in NTB, Keureuto Dam and Rukoh Dam in Aceh Province, Jlantah Dam in Central Java Province, and Sidan Dam in Bali Province.

Furthermore, Prabowo thanked Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, and the extended family of the Ministry of Public Works for the work carried out over many years.

“Brothers and sisters, building a nation is an enormous task, a long struggle. Building a nation does not take one year, two years, a dozen years, or decades,” Prabowo said.

According to Prabowo, citing an explanation from Dody, Meninting Dam has been under construction since 2019. As with other infrastructure projects, dam construction requires time, cost, and resources.

“I am grateful that I am the one who gets to inaugurate this dam. But my predecessors all deserve credit,” Prabowo said.
