Prabowo Describes Leadership as Destiny, Pledges to Protect All Citizens

Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto stated that leadership constitutes a great mandate that must be carried out to defend truth, uphold justice, and protect all the Indonesian people.

Prabowo conveyed this message during his remarks at the state-level commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an for the year 1447 H/2026 M at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, 10 March 2026.

“I am increasingly aware that leadership is destiny, and power originates from the Almighty, and power is given as a duty to defend truth, justice, and honesty, and that power is a task to protect and bring welfare and justice to all the people being led,” Prabowo stated.

He emphasised that the government’s primary responsibility is to protect all Indonesian people without regard to ethnic, religious, or racial background.

According to Prabowo, maintaining peace is not only accomplished through prayer, but also through hard work to realise welfare and justice for all the people.

The former defence minister also reaffirmed the Indonesian government’s commitment to preserving peace and building friendly relations with all countries in the world.

“The Indonesian nation under the leadership of my government and all my assistants are resolved to maintain friendship and good relations with all peoples, with all countries, with all powers. We do not wish to interfere in the domestic affairs of any country. We respect all powers in the world, whether great or small,” Prabowo added.
